I know a few people who work with troubled youth. Their training included learning how to physically restrain a child or teen who was getting violent, without hurting them— just holding them in a way that they can’t lash out and hurt themselves or others.

Do police officers not get this training? I guess now it’s just policy to head straight to pepper spray, tazers, etc right off the bat? I’m flabbergasted by reports like these in which a grown man used such force on a CHILD. And using zip ties to tie his wrists and ankles? That’s downright barbaric.

It’s no wonder we’re pepper spraying peaceful protesters if grown officers can’t even manage a child.
